Lily Transportation’s CNG Fleet expected to Reduce Greenhouse Gas Emissions by 234 Metric Tons
BOSTON (July 19, 2012) – Lily Transportation Corp. a Top Dedicated Contract Carrier and Environmental Protection Agency Smart Way Transport Partner, recently deployed it’s 2012 fleet of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) trucks to serve one of its customers in Southern California.
The 2012 Freightliners will emit nearly zero air particulates and up to 24 percent fewer Greenhouse Gas Emissions (GGE), a reduction of 234 metric tons of GGE released into the air in one year. “This move will significantly reduce our carbon footprint in the Los Angeles area. It’s an exciting step in our corporate sustainability initiatives and we are looking forward to a great partnership with Clean Energy Fuels, our CNG fuel provider”, said John Simourian II, Lily’s President and CEO.
“Lily is committed to consistently reducing fuel usage and fuel cost for our customers. We continually seek to have a positive impact on the communities that we travel through, and our growing use of clean natural gas for our trucks will help us to achieve that objective. We believe that Natural Gas will become the preferred fuel for transporters. With 98% of natural gas being produced in America, it’s good for American energy independence, American jobs, and therefore America.”
